1. Describe the geographical features of India briefly.

Ans: a) India’s geographical features comprise the Himalayan Mountains, the Indo-Gangetic Plain in the North.

b) The Deccan plateau and Coastal regions in the South.

c) Bolan and Khyber passes North-Western sides.

d) Eastern coastline is called the Coromandel Coast, Western Coastline is called Konkan and Malabar Coastline.

 

2. What are the valleys through which the attacks on India have been taken place?

Ans: The attacks have been mainly from the north-Western side through the valleys of Bolan and Khyber passes.

 

3. What is meant by ‘Pre-historic’ Age?

Ans: The period before the discovery of the art of writing is called the pre-historic Age.

 

4. How did animal husbandry and dairying start?

Ans:         a) 12000 years ago the temperature increased and this caused the grasslands to grow.

b) Humans who had been hunting animals began to observe their nature, food habits and the way these animals multiplied.

c) Over a period of time, they captured some animals and brought them up. Like this animals husbandry and dairying started

 

5. The different period of pre-historic has been given various names by archaeologists. What are they?

Ans: a) Old stone age- [Two million years ago] It has 3 types

Early Stone Age, Middle Old Stone age, Late Old Stone Age
